When i opened the back door of our family room this morning, the fragrance of “back to school” was in the air. I can’t describe it really. When the garden has this fragrance, you know summer is coming to an end. For most of my life, that meant that it would soon be back to school either as a student, a parent, a teacher or a grandmother. These days it signals that it is almost time to get ready for many of the Art shows which will take place over the next few months; GPG’s show at First St. Andrews and Westland’s Square Foot Show are two that spring immediately to mind but there are others too. I am working away filling my studio with finished paintings, works in progress and sketchbooks of ideas in the first planning stages.
If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to visit St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre please consider doing so. My exhibition is underway and continues until Sept. 24th.
I will be at Westland Gallery on Saturday August 27 from 1pm until 3pm. I will be painting, demonstrating and answering questions about watercolour techniques in general and mine in particular. Please stop by for a visit.
If back to school is in your future or that of your family members, I hope that you are able to enjoy these last few weeks of summer and that the upcoming return to school is joyful and leads to success.
Thank you for your continuing interest and support.
